KFC Chicken Little Sandwich Returns After 20 Years [Report]

Remember back in the 80’s and 90’s when yo-yos were fun toys? Empty hairspray cans and cassette tapes littered the floor of your Firebird and one could get a value sized chicken sandwich for some spare change. Well, KFC is attempting to revive some of the glory days with the re-introduction of their beloved slider style fried chicken sandwich.

Some of you may remember the Chicken Little sandwich at KFC from the 80’s, a simple enough concept: bread, chicken, and mayo (strangly pickles appear in that promo image at the top). This little guy was sold for a mere .39 cents and targeted the value crowd before dollar menus and value menus existed.

Check out this awesome KFC commercial from 1987 in which young people are having fun:

I can’t wait to go to KFC and order a sack of 30 Chicken Little sandwiches and hand them out.

Fast forward 20+ years and you will find the Chicken Littles reappearing in select test markets, mostly unchanged except for a price bump to bring it up to the $1.29 price range. It will be interesting to see what adjustments KFC makes to their menu if these roll our nationwide. It will create a strange mix of two value chicken sandwiches if they continue to keep the snackers on the menu. Some people were so enamored with the Chicken Little sandwich that an online petition exists begging for its return. I’d like to think that they had something to do with this new experimentation….

These are nothing like the original Chicken Littles. The breading is obviously crispy like the Snacker, these feature a pickle, and I'm guessing they use real white meat instead of the grey mechanically separated sort. KFC should be ashamed of themselves for misnaming these sandwiches. Bring back the REAL Chicken Littles!

go to the "help bring back kfc's chicken little sandwich" on facebook and share a comment and let everyone you know that wants the chicken littles back to place a comment and start a petition

Those chicken littles was a regular meal for us. Sometimes we would go to kfc two to three times a day for them because they were that good. I agree with ohm they aren't the same and please bring back the old school way. They will sell better

That's a shame. We loved them in NY as children. They were good as gold. Bring back the original Chicken Littles. Please

These are just KFC snackers in disguise. It is one crispy chicken strip on a smaller oval bun then the snacker, with the same kfc sauce and 2 little pickles on them. NOT the same as the original ones from the 80's!

WAIT, hold the phone, I've been waiting my whole life for this! I just happened to be craving one and looked online to read about them. I need to find out if they have them at a location near me.

During my elementary years, my dad used to drop these delicious treats off in the office for my siblings and my lunch. All the other kids wished he was their dad too, lol. I really hope I can find them near me.

What a scam they aren't the real chicken littles just a chicken strip on a oval bun. A snacker I was really disappointed. BRING BACK THE REAL CHICKEN LITTLE like the ones they used to make in the 80.

I went to KFC today because a friend of mine told me that they brought the Chicken Littles back. I went through the drive thru &I ordered two. There were no signs saying they had them, but the lady working said so you want the new little sandwich. So assuming they were just like they were back in the 80's I was excited about having my favorite childhood sandwich back. I was very disappointed when picked up the first sandwich out of the bag. I could tell it was not the dinner roll type sandwich. I was so mad that spent my money on a mini snacker. The Chicken Littles from the 80's is what KFC needs to bring back & get rid of the mini snacker.

While these are not the same thing as the original Chicken Littles, they are quite delicious. Best thing I've had at KFC in a long time.

Bring back the chicken littles from the 80's these are not the same.

Bring back the origional not this over priced crap and charge 1.29. I will go elsewhere to get a full sized chicken sandwich for that price!

It looks like they might have just renamed the current chicken snacker sandwich. Thats how its listed on my local KFC's menu, no mention of snackers any longer.

On a side note, its amazing how many people want the original back, with the processed "grey-meat" chicken and all.

this is bullshit, they aren't the same at all, everything has changed. They totally rip off the snacker which is aloso cheaper to start and the original didn't have fucking pickles, I mean really they are trying to pass this shit off?

I agree, not even close to original sandwiches. Fail in a big time way, so bad it makes me want to go poop!!

My family and I would stop by KFC every time we would go to my grandmothers house she lived about an hour away and my pops would buy like 20 chicken littles to eat on the way and as a kid I didn't care for mayo and he would just say put some ketchup on it you'll never know it on there and now I can't eat a chicken sandwich without the two of them and how I've missed those chicken littles and ppl are right I've eaten them and it not the same just don't hit those childhood memories Fail:(

I tried them today and was really disappointed! I mean they were good, but not 1988 square shaped chicken patty good. Not to mention they are 1.29$ I can go to Wendy's half mile away and get a chicken sandwich twice the size for.99. These are in my mind worth maybe .69 cents a piece, roughly half what they charge. I won't buy anymore. Il stick with Wendy's, sorry KFC.... D-

These are pretty weak chicken snackers. Absolutely LOADED in Mayo (if that's your thing) and pretty much a chicken strip on a small bun. Lame attempt to cash in on some nostalgia.

I just now heard that the Chicken Little is back to KFC! I was so excited until I read these comments:( Chicken Littles were my favorite thing to eat as a child. I would eat them all the time if they brought back the real chicken little... Thinking about it brings back so many wonderful childhood memories:)

That is bs to say they are chicken littles, I used to love those and u will not even Try these after all the bad feedback. Get the old "REal" chicken little back and we will buy.... I'd rather go elsewhere then be Mis/lead ! "KFC YOU SUCK"

I agree nothing like the original chicken Littles. Also disappointed, please bring back the original square chicken Littles. Don't know why u stopped selling them in the first place.

ok - so they just happen to coincide with the demise of Chik-fil-A? suuuuuure.

Not bad at all! I've been waiting for these since I was a little girl. Not crazy about the pickles but I for one am glad it's real chicken. The chicken little has evolved with me! Thanks KFC:)

Go to Jack 'n the Box order their chicken sandwhich off the $1 menu. It's larger than the original KFC chicken Little yet it is pretty much similar in taste. THe new re-release is nothing but an abomination that KFC truly should never have re-released with that disgusting pickle! What's worse is it comes with a practically non-exisitant "dot" of mayo. Personally I agree that if KFC wanted to re-release the chicken little sandwhich they should have stuck with the original recipe instead of slapping the "snacker" with a pickle and claiming it was the "chicken little". For shame KFC for shame.

There are locations that always have the original old time chicken littles but they arnt 30 cents anymore... I think they are $1 each unless u get the meal. The location in long beach, california has had them available since the 80's and never took them off the menu. Its about 60 miles from my house but i still made trips there just for them.. I printed out a list of all the kfc locations within 30 miles and called each store and asked if they had them about 10 years ago and the location in chino, california on central ave also has them.
